Spring is great.  I was playing tennis yesterday at the tennis court right outside Barnes Jewish Hospital. I was so happy to be outside cuz it was one of the first days that felt like spring, warm enough to play and actually to have time to play =)  While I was playing, I looked at the hospital and thought that it must be kinda sad to be in the hospital rooms.  I saw one person standing at the window, looking out.  That person is probably wishing that they were in good health and could be outside playing like I was.  I'm compassionate towards sick people, but at the same time, I'm really thankful that I'm not sick. So, moral of the story, I think everyone should come out and play while they're healthy and be well

Go Forward.  That's Superman's motto.  Superman as in Christopher Reeve, who fought against a spinal cord injury and was treated at Kennedy Krieger Institute, the same place that I have my PT rotation right now.   Thursday and Friday renewed my inspiration to be a PT when I treated a five year old girl who was able to stand by herself with the help of some knee braces and was able to walk while I move her legs for her.  Although she wasn't able to walk yet, it was a large leap in seeing her stand on her own and seeing her wiggle her hips in a struggle for her to move her legs forward so that she can walk.  This is just one of the patients who probably was once told that they could never regain motion again if they went to other therapy centers.  Besides her being as cute as she is, she drew the attention of the whole gym..the therapists, other patients, and of course, her mom, who were all tearing up because this was such an accomplishment for her, and I feel so honored to be working with her.  There must have been a little bit of Superman in her..or maybe in me and the other therapists...to enable this event to happen.

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16

There's a lot to be joyful and thankful for. One of the things I appreciate most is all my classmates and the people I meet here.  The talent show was great and I'm amazed that my class and the first years put together something so enteraining and for a great cause to raise money for a less fortunate family.  Today I was doing laundry and ran into a friend who I haven't hung out with in a long time and we ended up cooking together.  Baked salmon for the first time..and it was really good...took forever though.

I'm a Jeanne wannabe.  Jeanne is a really awesome person I met at the dorm last year, and she cooked the most amazing food and shared it with lots of people.
So...on Saturday, I made this scrumptious fruit pizza/pie.

I have a new respect for people who cut pineapples.  It was quite a workout sawing the pineapple apart and carving away the non-edible parts.
